Alfred William 'Bill' 'Butch' Borchers, Jr.

February 1, 1948 — February 17, 2021

Alfred William Borchers, Jr. 73, of Grayling and known as "Bill" or "Butch", passed away in Alabama on February 17, 2021.

He was born on February 1, 1948 to Alfred and Zonela Borchers in Grayling. Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He continued his service to our country by being part of the team from the VFW/American Legion that provided local memorial services to our veterans. He was a member of the American Legion/VFW and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, making donuts at St. Mary's, and spending time with his faithful furry companion Conner. Bill worked as the Equalization Director of Crawford County until retirement in 2001. After retirement he worked as a real estate agent at Century 21.

Survived by his children: Alfred (AL) Borchers III and wife Monica and Brian (Maria) Borchers, both of Grayling. Grandchildren: Emma, Josie, Drake, and Zonela. Sister: Bonnie Fierens of Grand Rapids. Also survived by nieces nephews and cousins.

Graveside Military Honors will take place August 14, 2021, 11 am at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling, MI. For those that wish to remember Bill by memorial contribution, please consider contribution to American Legion/VFW.
